Day 8. Magic #MWAH2017

Todays prompt is magic.

I don’t really believe in magic in the cut a gall in half on stage kind of way.

I do believe in everyday magic, but before you think I have jumped right on the crazy train, hear me out.

I believe in the magic of the sunset. I believe in the tiny magics we encounter every day. That one colleague who can just make tea better than anyone else. That little girl who has a knack with animals and can get ducks at the park to eat out of her hand. The most difficult of the kids at my work who can magicaly find the most interesting bugs in the forrest and his twin brother who somehow manages to find lizards and ants nests and jay feathers everywhere.

My autistic friend who I knew since primary age, who struggles to talk but can quote every ice age film word for word and remeber bus timetables to seconds of accuracy.

I believe in the magic of two old people still in love after 70 years together. The magic of feeling a bird perch on your shoulder. The magic a landscape has to just take your breath away.

Some people have one strange magical skill, like always finding parking spaces, or being super good at raffles, or always being able to find the right channel, or never getting lost.

And I believe in the magic of love, of time as a healer.

In the magic of friendship and communication, patience and gentleness as a way to help someone crawl out of the depth of dispair and back into the light.

I believe in the magical feeling of a mothers love, but also the pain it brings when that magic never becomes a reality.

To quote Rumplestiltskin from Once Upon A Time

All magic comes with a price

Love and support always,
